Our dances are described by Jane Austen as the 'good old English country dances' and can be seen in films such as "Pride and Prejudice". She herself once said "to be fond of dancing is a certain step towards falling in love!" At that time dancing was an integral part of social life - indeed accomplished dancing was linked with high achievement, grace, and harmonious thinking!
