Our Festival Patron: John Kirkpatrick MBE

Here at Chippenham Folk Festival, we’re proud to have John Kirkpatrick as our festival patron. A leading figure in English folk music for more than five decades, John’s extraordinary contribution as a musician, singer, composer and champion of traditional music embodies the traditions, creativity and community that define the festival.

Renowned for his masterful melodeon and concertina playing, infectious stage presence and deep knowledge of folk traditions, he continues to inspire performers and audiences alike. As patron, John embodies the festival’s enduring commitment to music, dance, song and the living traditions of folk culture.
