Inclusion

Chippenham Folk Festival CIC Inclusion Statement

Our Commitment

Chippenham Folk Festival believes that folk music, dance and culture belong to everyone.
We are committed to creating a festival where everyone is welcomed, treated with dignity
and respect, and able to participate in a friendly, safe and inclusive environment.
As a volunteer-led Community Interest Company, we value kindness, courtesy and
consideration for others. We want everyone who attends, performs, volunteers or works at the
festival to feel that they are valued members of our festival community.

Our Approach

We aim to:

  • welcome everyone who wishes to take part in the festival;
  • foster a culture of mutual respect and consideration;
  • make the festival as inclusive and accessible as reasonably practicable;
  • encourage participation from people with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences
    and abilities;
  • treat everyone fairly and consistently;
  • provide an environment free from bullying, harassment and abusive behaviour; and
  • listen to feedback so that we can continue to improve.

What We Ask of Everyone

We ask everyone attending or participating in the festival to:

  • treat others with courtesy and respect;
  • value different experiences and viewpoints;
  • behave in a way that helps everyone feel welcome;
  • avoid behaviour that is intimidating, abusive, harassing or offensive; and
  • support festival volunteers in maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    Everyone shares responsibility for making Chippenham Folk Festival a welcoming place for
    all.
