Linda Game & Gareth Kiddier

Linda Game (violin) and Gareth Kiddier (piano) played together for many years as The English Contra Dance Band. They meet up regularly to make sure they haven't forgotten the tunes. They've come back together for this special festival.

The English Contra Dance Band was a two piece band playing music for contra dance. Linda Game plays a driving fiddle style over Gareth Kiddier's solid piano accompaniment. Although they are from different traditions, English traditional and Rock, they adapted very well to the American high energy style of contra dance music. As a dancer once said, "How can two people make so much noise!".

Don't be deceived by the apparent simplicity of a piano and fiddle duo. They play tune interpretations for dances that will have the dancer on the ceiling.
