J²ohn Stewart & Susannah Diamond

J²ohn Stewart is widely known in the UK Balfolk and contra scene as an enthusiastic aficionado and promoter of Scandinavian and International dancing. He first fell in love with Scandinavian dancing when touring with an international dance group which led to him returning many times and badgering UK and continental festivals and bands for opportunities to spread his love (of dance :) Over the years he has taught or assisted teaching at Sidmouth, Towersey, Eastbourne, DATW, Gennetines, Kinnesley, IVFDF, Ketton, Scandymoot, Pentreffest and various clubs. He founded the popular and affordable Skint festival for Scandinavian and International dance, and on the committee of SIFD, the Society for International Folk Dance, Skint etc.

Susannah Diamond is a regular dance teacher and event organiser for Sheffield Eurosession, and has also taught at other festivals such as IVFDF and Shrewsbury, and helped to set up the Skint dance festival for for Scandinavian and International dance. Taking a decision to limit her travels abroad, Susannah has learnt much from expert Scandinavian dance teachers at Scandimoot, Kinnersley, Halsway Manor, and Pentreffest. In her teaching she also draws upon her experience of dancing an eclectic range of genres including swing dancing and tango.
