Barbara Snape

Barbara Snape, originally from the Wirral in Cheshire, was very involved in the vibrant Liverpool Folk Scene from 1969 onwards, helping run the Liverpool Traditional Club for a number of years and working also on the organisation of two folk festivals in the city. Singing both unaccompanied and with others, she took inspiration particularly from the English, Irish and American songs that she heard. Now living in Lancashire with husband Peter, Barbara has not lost her appetite and enthusiasm for traditional song which was nurtured all those years ago. With a versatile voice full of character, she remains passionate about folk song and is ‘still singing, listening, learning and enjoying our rich heritage’
