Albireo

Albireo will be playing for a variety of mixed programme and English folk dance events.

Since forming in 2001, Albireo have become firm favourites in the Greater Manchester area, with appearances at Poynton Ceilidhs, Phoenix Ceilidhs, Ryburn 3 Step, Liverpool Contra and other dance clubs in the North West.

With more than twenty year's experience, Albireo are now a highly regarded and busy band of enormous versatility and energy, playing a wide range of dance music covering everything from Playford and social dance through to ceilidh and contra. Albireo breathe life and feel into everything they play, and work carefully with callers ahead of the event to really understand the music and its specific role in each dance.

This broad range and deep experience has led to performances at many festivals and dances, including Broadstairs Folk Week, Sidmouth Festival, Whitby Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Chester Festival, Eastbourne International Folk Dance Festival, Oxfolk Ceilidhs, Unicorn Ceilidhs, Coventry Zesty Playford, the Cheltenham Playford Ball at the Pump Rooms, the Paris Contra, and Halsway Manor.
