Patakas (Joe and Will Sartin)

Patakas (Joe and Will Sartin)

Will Sartin (mandolin & vocals) & Joe Sartin (guitar & vocals) are Patakas. A new duo bursting onto the English folk scene bringing driving rhythms and innovative harmony to their fresh interpretations of tunes and songs, including those of their own composition. A member of the popular 5-piece ceilidh band, Out of Hand, Will Sartin has performed at Sidmouth, Chippenham and a host of other folk festivals since leaving the National Youth Folklore Troupe of England (NYFTE). Also a NYFTE alumnus, Joe Sartin was a founding member of trio Renard, lead singer of Second Knives, and is now studying for a music degree whilst pursuing professional projects in folk, jazz and rock; influences which contribute to the unique musical identity of Patakas. ‘Will and Joe Sartin share more than a striking physical resemblance to their esteemed father, Paul. Both are exceptionally talented musicians. Joe, still a teenager, is already showing himself to be a confident, beautiful singer with a strong traditional repertoire that owes much to his upbringing. Will is an incredibly dexterous mandolin player with the superb ceilidh band, Out of Hand.‘ (Tradfolk.co)
